...Are seriously NASTY !
So we should have bought a new car WAY way sooner. Something weird happened. At first I thought he was joking when Steph woke me up by saying :"Hey, wanna go shopping today?" Me :"You mean, at the Busy Bee (convenience store) ?". Turns out he REALLY wanted to go shopping. I acted as normal as I could and didn't push for his motive as I didn't want him to overthink this. We really did go shopping! It HAS to be the new car thing. The last time we did this kind of shopping (the kind real shoppers do) was oh, about 4 years ago.
We started with HomeSense, then Staples, Pier 1 Imports, Shoppers Drug Mart LOL (We were looking for our favorite candles : Yankee Candles), and Home Depot. We got a new WoW card, a new leather computer chair, wine stoppers, cabinet hardware, 2 rolling garbage cans, a new doorknob for our bedroom, a laundry basket, dropped my favorite (broken) chain to be fixed, had our wedding rings cleaned (first time in 2.5 years), Yankee Candles, Jelly Belly (Harry Potter kind, and regurlar kind.) In case you were wondering... the Harry Potter Vomit, Soap, Grass, Spinach, Booger, Ear Wax, Dirt, Sardines etc Jelly Beans REALLY FUCKING d0 taste like those things. EW! Although they are little beans so you can eat the nastiness pretty fast, and you DO continue to try the nasty one out of pure curiosity, I had to spit out 2 : Dirt and Sardines. Me and Steph tried the Sardines one at the same time and we were both red faced, teary eyed, laughing our asses off and I had to spit it out LOL
So I've started to read "The Wives of Bath", from the board book exchange, which I received from Mrs. Miika from Switzerland... pretty nifty board huh. And I LOVE it so far, it's captivating my attention and I was able to stay awake for 31.25 whole pages, which is saying a lot. (I've been tryign to read the same book since June...) But then again I'm always fascinated by stories that involve pregnancy and babies so that might be a reason why I love it so much after only 31 pages hehe.
I just finished making our monthly budget in advance until March 2006; I had to see how the new car payment and higher insurance premium would affect our lifestyle, aka frivolous spending. I always come to the same realization when doing our budget : If we stopped wasting so much money at restaurants we could have saved a small African country by now maybe. We're just ridiculous. We're restaurant-a-holics. Last sunday we made a new plan : we thought we would look through my delicious looking WW cookbook, and chose yummy looking recipes to try out this week, to curb the restaurant temptation. And we went and bought the ingredients... and we haven't made ONE meal this week. NOT ONE! How ridiculous is that. Maybe we should just open our own restaurant.... We could eat there for free.
Well I think I'm going to go re-heat tonight's leftover rib rack and potato from Montana's.

have you thought about preparing your meals ahead of time and then freezing or refridgerating them?
I'm guessing the big 'motivation' to eat at restaurants is that it's a lot easier to just go there and sit down and order something. But if you prepared a week's worth of meals on the weekend right after bringing those groceries home, all you'd have to do during the week is pull something out of the freezer in the morning to thaw and then stick it in the oven or pan when you get home.
Oh, and chop up all your veggies, lettuce etc when you buy them, then store in ziploc bags. they'll keep fairly well, and you don't have to peel and chop every time you want a veg.
You were at HomeSense again and didn't say hi? Ack! This time it's your fault not mine! ;P
You can buy Yankee Candles at Claire Du Lune, the little candle store by Walmart in the mall.
Bertie Botts' Every Flavour Beans rock. I feed all the nasty ones to my younger siblings when they come to visit. :)
Rob and I have the same restaurant problem. There's very few places in this city that we haven't eaten at. We've really gotten better over the past 2 months though. It must be because I'm working so much that I'm too tired to go anywhere when I get home. Whatever works I guess. :)
