CrazyMrsNancy : Easily Peeved

Here is a compilation of my pet peeves, in no particular order (This week's Wednesday Challenge) :

  • People who think that they are better than everyone else. Or act that way.
  • Management on power trips/micro-management
  • Computer illiterate people. It should be required that people take a computer course and get a "computer license" (like a driving license) before manipulating any important data.
  • "Keeping up with the Jones"
  • Unsollicited diet & fitness advice. (Especially from people who have never had a weight problem.)
  • People who print every single email they receive before reading them. What a waste.
  • Sore losers
  • Empty food packages in the pantry or fridge
  • Ice trays with just 1 or 2 cubes in them, which have been left there and a new tray has been used, just so that the person (don't want to name names :P) doesn't have to refill the first tray. Then you're left with 6 ice trays with just 1-2 cubes in them. Yeah we're ice cube freaks at my house. We consume on average 2 ice trays a night. About 4 ice trays on a weekend day.
  • Self Check-outs. OMG those things sucks. They would rock if they worked well. Yesterday when I went to Home Depot to buy my 8 feet long closet poles, NO cash registers were open. None. Only those stupid self checkouts. argh. I scan my first pole. "Please put your item in the bag". "Please put your item in the bag". I try to put my pole in the bag, standing up, so that the machine registers it's weight but if I let go it falls so I can't let go and the machine starts freaking out at me "Please put your item in the bag" -- "I'm TRYING to you numb fuck!" argh. When the attendant finally rescued me, I still had another pole to do ugh. But what would I have done if I had bought like... I don't know... a freaking patio set? How could have have lifted that to scan it and put my item in the bag? bah, anyway.
  • People who impose their choices and values on others
  • People with closed-tight minds
  • Myspace-Facebook-Blogs-Hi5-etc Comment whores. (People who harrass you to comment. It makes it less meaningful if you know you have to shit comments all the time you know?) If you're reading this, then no I don't mean you :P
  • People who tell *Me* "Ugh I'm so fat" Just so that you'll reassure them that they're not.
  • People who don't have the same decorating tastes as you so therefore their decor is much better than yours.
  • People with fake accents. OMG this drives me nuts.
  • People who pretend that they're listening to you/heard what you said, when they havent. Especially when you ask them a question and they answer "oh".
  • People who won't validate our marriage because we can't seem to reproduce / People who think that you can only be declared a 'real adult' once you have children.
  • People who assume that since you have no children and you're shy when interacting with their kid in front of them, that you're not that motherly.
  • Cheap people. (Not to be confused with frugal people.)

Can you tell that I'm PMSing? I could go on and on it seems. But I'll stop here or I'll start sounding like a bitter jaded cynical person. :P

I'm with you on the self checkouts. Either you can't get it in the bag, or the item weighs so little that it can't sense that you HAVE put it into the bag! I've also had the thing tell me "Please remove your item from the bag" and when I do it tells me, "Please place your item in the bag." In or out - what do you want from me!?

OMG, so many things on your list are on my list (in my head not on paper yet) as well. Great list!
