I threw a hissy fit because I wanted to go away on vacation

And now I'm having doubts....

This is what I just emailed dh :

I’m having doubts about wether we should go on vacation or not… I’ve been thinking about it all morning… vacation means weight gain when we we could use the time to to the master cleanse at home and pay debt… although vacation would mean taking our minds off work and chores etc… what are your thoughts on this ? If we cancel there’s a 40$ penalty with expedia… but that’s better than almost 1k of vacation expenses… But then again we could use a romantic vacation and forget about work and home chores… would a vacation stress you or relax you ? (Driving etc)

What are your thoughts ?

PS. I've gained back 16 of the 17 lbs I had lost.... DH had his doctor's appointment this morning, and although he didn't get yelled at like me, his blood pressure is really high. Would a vacation relax his blood pressure, or would all the vacation eating make it worst ? It is only 4 days.... so we could eat healthy for the rest of our vacation, although DH has only 1 off. (10 days with the long weekend.) On the other hand, it is only 4 days.... and it's going to cost 1000$ IF we don't shop around etc. Is it worth it ? GAH!

If you're going to feel bad afterward about spending the money, then it probably isn't worth it. Vacation should be about relaxing and unwinding, not wondering if you should have saved the money instead. Just *being off work* is great and relaxing, even if you don't go anywhere.

That being said, I am the biggest lover of vacation ever, and I *always* want to go somewhere.

So yeah ... I guess that wasn't really very helpful, was it?

I agree! If you are second guessing it then maybe it isn't right? will you feel guilty afterwards? you guys can go on some day trips to get away....?

Relaxing definitely helps blood pressure...healthy eating does, too. Maybe combine both?
