I'm so thirsty...

... Dad was in town and I just went to meet him for lunch. We went to eat chinese at Chan's House. I hate that eternal thirst after eating chinese. I just realized that it seems like when I go eat Vietnamese/Thai food, I'm never as thirsty afterwards as when I eat Chinese. I ALWAYS get 2 fortunes in my fortune cookies. Always. Well okay 99.9% of the time. One of my fortunes today read : " Vous etes im etre cultive". (If you flip it to the english side : You are a person of culture.) For those of you who speak french no that's not a typo. It was so poorly written, so gramatically incorrect that the person who wrote this fortune was surely not a person of culture. Are fortune cookies bilingual in your area ?

At Chan's House when you walk in there's a sign that says "Please wait to be seated". It's our 'place'. When my dad and I meet for lunch just the two of us we always go to Chan's House. We usually walk in, wait wait wait wait.... until the hostess finally comes and says : "For two ? Sit anywhere you like". Always. Exept today. We walked in and didn't feel like waiting. We felt like sitting anywhere we like right away. So we proceed to walk into the dining room and the hostess runs to us and the table we had chosen, and directs us to another table. The table in the crappiest location. The one table in everyone else's way. UGH. I guess if you don't wait to be seated, then you don't get to sit anywhere you like.

I desperately need to freshen up my colour and highlights. I have yet to come up with a plan to convince Steph that it's 100$ well spent. Besides the obvious feelings of empowerment and self worth that come with a trip to the hair salon, I think that it's just in a woman's genes to want to be made pretty. (Or less ugly). Stephane doesn't get women. He doesn't understand why I need so many different pairs of black shoes. And Tina you're not allowed to comment if you're going to side with Steph. I think Tina has been living with her men (husband and sons) for too long before her daughter was born. She's assimilated. She claims that she can shower, do hair and make up and be out the door in 15-20 minutes. It takes me 1h30 for optimal results, 1hour for everyday results, and 40 minutes if I don't wash my hair and put it up in a ponytail and wear no makeup. Although the comparison isn't really fair because Tina doesn't have to test her blood sugars, inject with insuline, struggle to put compression socks on, take medications, and has less overall mass to shower than I have.

I'm probably overanalyzing this today because I'm having a horrible bad hair day. I hate it when I spend so much time washing and conditionning my hair and it does this to me. I gently massaged you with Burt's bee's natural avocado hair treatment and THIS is how to repay me ? PFFT. You'll be in a ponytail tomorrow so there. Oops sorry I shouldn't really talk to my hair in public it'll make me look crazier :P

i side with simplicity, same hair different color.

artificial coloring damage your hair even more and you have a nice natural hair color.

oh and don't you go blaming tina's boys for her point of view :p with kids to look after, i don't know who'd have 1 or more hour to doll herself up every day.

i guess i should go sip my cup of stfu now before it get cold

You crack me up. I also don't know how someone can be dressed with a shower & everything in 15-20 minutes. I can't get dressed w/out a shower or make-up in that amount of time, ever.

I am pokie. Just ask Heather. I am slow and it takes me a minimum of an hour & 15 minutes to get dressed if I wash my hair. That doesn't include primping for an extra 30 minutes if I am going somewhere special or changing outfits 4 times b/c I am not satisfied with my original choice. So typically, it takes me close to 2 hours to get fully dressed and out of the house. You are not alone.
